MOSCOW, Jul 8 (PRIME) -- Not a single segment of the Russian consumer market is experiencing anything close to deficit of goods, the Industry and Trade Ministry said in a statement on Friday quoting Minister Denis Manturov as saying.
“Not a single segment has anything close to deficit,” he said during a meeting of the presidium of the trade and consumer market commission of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, as quoted by the ministry.
Demand of the consumer market is satisfied by about 1 million retail outlets, 120,000 public catering and 340,000 consumer service facilities. The sector adapts to any changes and transformations of the market, Manturov said.
He also said that the Russian retail chains should prioritize purchases from national and local companies, and promote national goods at market conditions.
“This will not inflict any damage on the combined supply as we eased imports. But to avoid risks in the future, we should go this way and support our national producers, and believe me – we have many contenders that are worthy,” he said.
